How To Generate Attention For Your Online Business

Hey ladies!

Today, I’m diving into one of the biggest things that holds back online businesses especially when you’re first getting started: getting enough attention.

I know it can be tough putting your work out there and wondering if anyone’s even paying attention to you. But trust me, there are ways to get noticed, to grow your audience, and get them to keep coming back for more.

We’re talking about getting your name, your brand, and your message out there in a way that STICKS!

Whether you’re selling digital products or offering services, I’m gonna give you some tips on how to go from “barely noticed” to “poppin…”

Starting with #1, you’ll want to build more awareness and keep putting yourself out there. How do you do this? By leveraging social media. That includes YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter.

Find out where your audience hangs out online and make yourself known. Whenever you see them answering questions, slip in a reply. Make them see your name and click on it. And from there, they’ll see what should be a wealth of content for them to dive into.

And remember that each platform works differently, so you don’t want to just copy and paste the same exact content. Switch it up for each one.

For example, Instagram Reels and TikToks are great for fun, short form content. But YouTube? That’s where you can provide more educational, long form content.

And make sure that you’re posting content consistently. This doesn’t mean that it has to be every single day, but it can’t be too far in between either.

Think of this as building a relationship or a friendship with your perfect customer—always show up, always bring something of value to the table, and always put their needs before yours.

Another way to build your brand awareness is by collaborating with others. Collabs can look like Instagram Lives or even webinars showing off your expertise. When you collaborate, you get a chance to connect with an established audience that already trusts someone else, so that introduction to you is just pure gold.

Now let’s move on to the 2nd way to generate more attention for your business:
Realizing that the world is your oyster.

In other words, take advantage of having a worldwide audience. The internet is a massive playground. People from all over the world can find your business. But here’s the trick: You have to make it easy for people to find you.

Here’s how: Using SEO or Search Engine Optimization throughout your content.

This means inserting keywords that people might be looking for on search engines like Google or YouTube. If someone’s typing “How to start an online business” or “Tips for Instagram growth,” make sure you’re showing up in those search results by inserting those words in your titles, meta tags, and throughout your verbiage so that the algorithm can pick it up and rank you in those categories.

Another way to take advantage of having a worldwide audience is to use paid ads. Especially on social media like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This can get your content in front of new eyes and even a small ad budget like $5 a day makes a huge difference in how much your content is put in front of people, so take advantage.

Moving on to #3: Learn how to build trust by showing that you’re the real deal.

If you’re starting your online brand from scratch, remember that people aren’t just going to throw their trust at you right away. You’ve gotta earn it!

A good way to start is by sharing your personal stories. People connect most with emotions and storytelling. So don’t be too shy to share your struggles, your ups and downs, your failures, your journey to where you are today.

Being real with people makes them more likely to feel connected to you and, in turn, more likely to trust you, vibe with you, and become more interested in tapping into your body of work.

#4 in generating attention for your business: Experiment with different content types.

Remember that variety is key. Different people consume content in different ways, so mix it up! A few types of content you can try include live streams where you can go live on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube and answer questions in real-time. This lets you engage directly with your audience and builds trust quickly.

You can also mini tutorial videos. These are short form how-to tips. People love to download these and save them in their phone to watch again and again. So if you’re in a niche like cooking or makeup or fashion styling or web design, tutorial videos would be great for you.

Another form of content you can try is creating your own podcast. This will work wonders for your business because people listen to podcasts in the car, working out at the gym, sitting at their work desk, cooking, cleaning, or anywhere. So if you have your own list of podcast episodes, that can easily establish you as an authority or go-to figure in your niche.

And it also creates evergreen content that will last for years. Five years from now, someone can find your podcast somewhere and go back and listen to all your episodes and that will lead them to your social media then to your website then to your email funnel then to you making a sale. It all starts with you today.

Moving on to #5 in generating attention for your business: Make sure that your brand is a valuable resource, not just a sales pitch.

This is big. If all you’re doing is saying, “Buy from me”  every day, people will get tired of it. Fast. So instead, make your brand a resource hub. Provide value in your content, and they’ll keep coming back.

You can do that by creating lots of videos, of course. And also don’t forget about blogging. Yes, blogging is still relevant for SEO purposes which leads to more organic traffic from Google and YouTube.

You can also provide value by offering free guides and downloads. Give away a checklist, an e-book, or something that people can download and consume. This gets people into your email funnel without them feeling pressured to buy something upfront.

Remember that it usually takes a while to warm people up to a sale. So you might not get it the first time someone comes across your content.

But if your content is warm, welcoming, abundant….and there’s even more hidden inside your email funnel, that’s an awesome way to get people familiar and comfortable with you.

Because when they do eventually decide to buy, it will be due to that trust factor that you built up from your free content.

Moving onto #6 in generating attention for your business: Engage, engage, engage.

This one is so important! Don’t just post and ghost. Respond to comments, DM people back, engage on other people’s content. It’s called social media for a reason.

Especially when you’re first getting started, you have to be the one to take the initiative to form connections with people. You have to decide to put yourself out there and become a social butterfly. You can’t stay stuck in your cocoon. Come alive. Get out there and make people know who you are.

Leave comments and make people see your name. This will get them to click on your name, check out your profile, and hopefully hit the follow button based on what they see. So make sure your content is sharp. And remember that the more you engage, the more the algorithm pushes your content.

So to wrap everything up, I wanna say this…

Generating attention is a mix of being seen, building trust, and, most importantly, making sure people keep coming back. It’s about creating a brand that sticks in people’s minds and makes them feel like they need what you offer.

So, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, get creative, and build those connections. Your audience is waiting—you just have to decide to make the first move!
